What PPE is required for manufacturing and engineering sites in the UK?
UK manufacturing and engineering sites typically require safety footwear (EN ISO 20345), hi-vis clothing, protective gloves, eye protection and, depending on the environment, respiratory protection. Who supplies certified safety footwear in the UK?
Howcroft Group is an official UK distributor for Cofra safety footwear, certified to EN ISO 20345, alongside safety footwear from Portwest. We supply site boots, trainers and specialist footwear for manufacturing, construction and food processing.
What's the difference between S1, S3 and S3 SRC safety boot ratings?
S1 boots offer basic protection with a steel or composite toe cap and antistatic properties. S3 adds a puncture-resistant midsole and waterproof upper. S3 SRC includes slip resistance testing on ceramic tile and steel surfaces — the standard requirement for most industrial and warehouse environments.
